Did you know that Loughborough University developed the Official Match Ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in partnership with adidas?
The “JABULANI”, which means “to celebrate” in isiZulu, features a South African inspired design and radically new technology. The ball has been tested and endorsed by a number of world-class international players, including Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Petr Cech and Kaka.
Having carried out research into major tournament match balls for adidas since 2002, Dr Andy Harland talks about his latest research project.
Free event to be held at Loughborough University on Monday 15th March, 6.30-7.30pm. Open to the local community (suitable for 12yrs and upwards.)
Places must be reserved in advance. Visit www.lboro.ac.uk/nsew/lectures or contact Karen Roxborough (Tel 01509 222186 / K.R.Roxborough@lboro.ac.uk)
